Is the pool Indoors? YES! It is located in a 18,000 sq.ft. building that is heated in the winter and cool in the summer.
Is the pool Heated? No, you have no idea how expensive it is to install and operate a pool heater for a 30,000 gallon pool!
Am I allowed to get into the pool with my dog? No, the City Of Lenexa does not allow public to enter the pool. Only employees are allowed. If you are caught either on camera or by staff in the pool you may be asked to leave without refund and banned from the pool. Don’t be that person.
I have more than one dog. Can they both share the pool time? Absolutely! The more the merrier! We highly recommend that you bring either an extra person to hold the dog or a crate. Please do not ask a staff member to hold your dog. They can’t be responsible for that.
How does my dog get in and out of the pool? We built a custom ramp for your dog to enter and exit the pool.
Should my dog wear a life vest? Perhaps! Although we don’t depend on life vests to ensure a dog will not drown, we do use them as training aids to help dogs learn proper swim technique.
What should I bring? Waterproof shoes or rubber boots, waterproof pants (rain paints work great), towel to dry your dog off and you, a crate if you are bringing more than one dog, collar and leash for your dog, poop bags, and a floatable dog toy if your dog likes toys.
Will I get wet? YES!! The happiest customers are the ones that wear rubber boots and rain pants or bring a change of clothes. Your dog will get out of the pool and ensure your feet are just as wet as he/she is.
Can I bring my kids along? Absolutely! Please keep them off of the ramp and please do not allow them to run around. There will be daycare dogs in playpens. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE IN YOUR PARTY TO APPROACH THE DAYCARE DOGS!
Do I have to be a member of the pool or customer of Camp Pupaway Doggie Daycare and Boarding to reserve pool time? No, the pool is open to the public!
It is my first visit, what should I expect? Expect your dog to be overwhelmed and nervous. This is a big deal. It’s a pool and it’s inside. It looks weird, there are weird reflections, and weird noises. Not to mention there are dogs barking! Take your time and don’t pressure your dog to do great. Just have fun. Your second time goes much smoother.
My dog already knows how to swim, do I need to book an Introductory lesson? Its definitely a good idea. A lot goes into a dog swimming in a pool and even more swimming in a indoor pool. Trust us, you will need guidance. We have lots of rules and safety regulations as well. You want to make sure you understand them all so that you can continue coming and enjoy your time.
If I book a Private Lesson or Pool rental will there be other dogs around? The pool will be yours with no other dogs. However, the space is shared with a Doggie Daycare and Boarding Facility. There will be dogs in playpens. Please do not allow your dog to approach the other dogs and do not let children approach dogs.
My dog is aggressive, can he still come? Yes, absolutely! Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what you need.
My dog is not spayed or neutered, can they still come? Yes, but please if your female is in heat do not bring her. Schedule another time. You will not lose your money if you need to reschedule. You may lose your money if you bring your female in heat and we see she is in heat. We are highly skilled “in-heat detectors” trust me.
What vaccines are required? Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza, and Bordetella (once a year).
Are there restroom facilities available? Yes, feel free to change in the restrooms as well. Please do not change on the main floor. Dead serious.
